Austen has been doing hair since 2017 and is nowhere near the finish line. Austen is a Licensed NBR Artists and is obsessed with perfecting her craft for each guest. She is known for providing a transformative experience and is determined to give you the most personal experience when stepping into The Light Collective. She is dedicated to every step to giving you your “dream hair” including Custom Color, Custom Colored Extensions, Cut, and Style with the help of Natural Beaded Rows (NBR) Hair Extensions.
Austen was raised with supportive parents who always encouraged her to follow God, work hard, and find her passion. From a young age she was the friend doing everyone’s hair. When she turned 18 she decided to turn that hobby into a career and after four short years in her career, she found Natural Beaded Rows Extensions.
Her meticulous attention to detail, matched with her eye for accentuating your best features is second to none. Now, add in NBR Extensions and you have a Triple-Threat-Artist guaranteed to make you look and feel brand new.
She aspires to give you an outward confidence boost while also inspiring and encouraging you to be the Light of the world you were created to be!
Not only does she have a passion for giving you the Hair-Goals of your dreams, but she also cares for and is intentional with each guest who sits in her chair. Her intentionality is what keeps her guest flying in from around the country to get their hair done by her.

Why not “Austen’s Light Collective”? Representing individuality, stating this business is MINE… no one else’s?

The Light Collective is a place of encouragement, truth, and beauty.
Although we love feeling beautiful wearing out 22” Crowns (lol) this kind of beauty is inside. Inward beauty that only He can transform; that will shine far greater than outward beauty ever could!

Austen’s Highlights
She became the second Licensed NBR Artist in Louisiana May 2022 and is now the ONLY Licensed NBR Artist in San Antonio, Texas since September 2022.
If Austen is not behind the chair you will find her doing something. She never really sits down. She is actively involved with her Church, enjoys working out, and is a huge foodie.
Austen was an NFL Cheerleader for the New Orleans Saints for four Seasons while also working full time behind the chair. These were some of the best memories of her life.
Austen was one of the first Artists of the NBR Academy (a year long program! think of it like getting your masters in hair) to graduate and become a Licensed NBR Artist.
Her first trip to NBR Headquarters was in October of 2020 with her best friends from her former salon. This is where the obsession was rooted and she knew she needed to take this passion further by joining the Academy.
